The Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) is a nonprofit organization, established in 1981, dedicated to furthering the expansion of college opportunities for low-income, first-generation students, veterans, and students with disabilities throughout the United States. Through its numerous membership services, the Council works in conjunction with colleges, universities, and agencies that host TRIO programs to specifically help low-income students enter college and graduate.
This advocacy group, like many organizations, recognized that some of its impact was lost due to conflicting visual elements in its identity and messaging. After working to understand the organization and its audiences, Vizual staff designed a cleaner, streamlined identity, and applied it throughout the group’s stationery and collateral—including award-winning conference materials, marketing brochures and more.
COE’s website needed a redesign and a restructure of their sitemap. We redesigned new user interfaces for their site’s home page, secondary-level pages, and tertiary-level pages, giving them a more user-centric design, where users mayy easily find information geared towards them. We designed a logo identity and stationery package for the association, which focused on the three pillars of COE’s TRiO program and intertwined the letters of the acronym.
Over the past several years, we have designed several logos for COE’s annual conferences and various programs.
We’ve designed many pieces for COE, including conference materials, program brochures, event invitations, newsletters, magazines, reports, etc.
