Herndon, Virginia, November 4, 2009 – Northern Virginia branding firm Vizual has just received ten more awards for its branding work for a wide variety of organizations, including a technology firm, an educational association, an accounting firm, and a law firm among others.
The national competition, The American Graphic Design Awards, has been around for more than four decades. According to the award letter received by Vizual, “…this year saw more than 8,000 entries. Of these, a highly selective 15 percent are recognized with an Awards Certificate of Excellence.” However, of the entries submitted by Vizual, 50 percent of the firm’s projects won awards. Included among the award-winners was a magazine for the Council for Opportunity in Education, an annual report for The Real Estate Roundtable, several advertisements for the Nuclear Energy Institute and Smith & Harroff, a website for Murray, Jonson, White & Associates, event marketing materials for Spriggs & Hollingsworth, and an advertisement for Natural Insight.
Each year, Vizual submits their work to a variety of competitions, but according to Jeff Lupisella, founder and principal of the firm, it’s less about winning awards and more about being recognized for excellence. “When a client hires us, we believe we have an obligation to perform at our highest level on a continuous basis. Winning awards, while not the most important result of a project or campaign, does help validate our effort on each client’s behalf… and validates their faith in us.”
While these are difficult economic times, Lupisella believes now is a great time to increase market share and sales through strategic branding initiatives. “When the economy slows down, many organizations pull back on their marketing and as a result, forward-thinking firms can capitalize on the lack of competition in the marketing arena. Planting seeds now through consistent and comprehensive branding and marketing efforts will reap big benefits as the economy improves.”
